1. the action by a celestial body of going round in an orbit
2. a fundamental change
The topic is change.
This workshop is for anyone who writes, or who wants to write, who is interested in this topic. All levels are welcome in an environment that encourages experimentation.
It is a workshop on writing during times of change; on writing about change; on writing change into being.
It’s for anyone who feels like there is something they need to say, either to the world or to themselves, and would enjoy some support for the process of finding words.
It’s for anyone who believes in the power of words to create reality – and wants to do some creating.
It’s for anyone who suspects that writing can be a way to explore the inner landscape, and who is ready to dive in.
What will we cover?
This half-day workshop includes both creative exercises and contemplative practices, as well as dedicated time for putting words on paper. You’ll get help with –
- Getting started and getting unstuck
- Discovering your message – what you want to say, and why
- Freeing your voice and writing from your heart
- Expressing the wisdom of your experience without self-censoring
- Connecting with others through your writing
- Writing as a channel for inner guidance
- Using the power of your words to create the world you want to live in
We’ll also have space to talk about any specific questions about writing that you may be sitting with.
Why take this time for writing?
We’re living in a time of massive upheaval and rearrangement. There’s a great need for spiritual and creative tools to help us make sense of all of the thoughts and emotions, and to help us move from feeling to understanding to action in the ways that feel right to each of us. And there’s also a great energy of possibility – as the ground of “how it’s always been” shifts, we may find ourselves opening to new perspectives and inner guidance in ways we haven’t before. Writing can be an excellent tool for gaining clarity about what we believe, what we know, and what we want.
